Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning Biology TGT using handout Teaching science in schools not only teaches ideas, but also problems and implementations that often occur in the real world. It helps students learn to think critically by reconstructing events and the values contained therein. However, the learning methods and media used today do not improve students' ability to think critically. The aim of  the study is to improve student's critical thinking ability by using video to implement collaboration between the PBL model and conventional learning. The focus of research at SMN 23 in Pekanbaru is the subject of this research. This research is Class Action Research (PTK). The parameters measured are the student's learning outcomes in the form of student absorption and accuracy, consisting of individual and classical accuration. Data analysis is performed in a descriptive way to determine the students' ability to absorb and accurately learn for CPK (Cognitive) and KI values. (Psikomotorik). 73.29% increased in the first cycle to 78.45% with an increase of 5.16% and in the second cycle increased to 83.13% with a increase of 4.68%. The classical intensity of the pre-PTK students' CPK ratio increased at 57.14% in cycle I to 74.29% with the increase of 17.15% and at cycle II to 88.57% with the improvement of 14.28%. The absorption of the KI ratio of students before PTK rose at 77.29% in Cycle I at 7.94% at 3.65%, and at Cycle II at 84.02% at 6.08%. Classical intensities of the students' IQ ratio prior to PTK grew at 65.71% in the First cycle at 80% with the growth of 14.29% and on the Second Cycle at 91.43% at 11.43%. It can be concluded that the application of the learning model of PBL can improve the learning outcomes of students of Class VII SMPN 23 New Year Teaching Week 2022/2023.
