PENGAWASAN OVER DIMENTION OVER LOADING (ODOL) OLEH DINAS PERHUBUNGAN KOTA PEKANBARU

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency to anticipate and prevent violations in driving, especially on Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) vehicles. The purpose of this study was to determine how Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) Vehicle Supervision is carried out in Pekanbaru City, as well as to determine the inhibiting factors in the implementation of supervision. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative research is a research method by directly describing the phenomena that occur in the research object. The data obtained from this study were through interviews, observations and documentation. There are 3 indicators used, namely: Establishing Measuring Instruments (Standards), Conducting Assessment Actions (Evaluation) and Taking Corrective Actions (Corrective Action). The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) supervision has been running, but it cannot be said to be optimal. The inhibiting factors in the implementation of Over Dimension Over Loading Vehicle Supervision are the lack of budget provided to carry out supervision activities in the field and the lack of driver understanding in driving which causes the implementation of Over Dimension Over Loading Vehicle Supervision in Pekanbaru City to be less than optimal.
