Reference Management
Journal of Islamic Finance and Accounting Research (JAFAR) encourages all authors to use a reference management application in preparing their manuscripts in order to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in citation and referencing. The use of reference management software is strongly recommended to help authors organize sources properly and to minimize citation errors throughout the manuscript.
Authors may use commonly recognized reference management tools, such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or other similar applications, provided that the citation and bibliography format follows the journal’s required style consistently. For JAFAR, all in-text citations and references should be prepared using APA Style, 7th Edition.
Authors are expected to ensure that:
- every source cited in the text appears in the reference list;
- every reference listed has been cited in the manuscript;
- bibliographic data are complete and accurate;
- author names, publication years, titles, journal names, volumes, issues, pages, and DOI or URL, where applicable, are presented correctly and consistently.
JAFAR highly recommends authors to check the final reference list carefully before submission, even when reference management software has been used. Automatic citation tools are helpful, but authors remain fully responsible for the completeness, accuracy, and conformity of all references in the submitted manuscript. This is important to maintain academic integrity and the quality of scholarly communication.
Where available, authors are also encouraged to include the DOI for journal articles and to prioritize relevant, recent, and scholarly sources that support the originality and academic contribution of the manuscript.
