Screening for Plagiarism

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Islamic Finance and Accounting Research (JAFAR) must be original and free from plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. To maintain academic integrity and publication quality, every submitted manuscript will undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin before or during the review process.

JAFAR applies a maximum Similarity Index of 20%. Manuscripts with a similarity score above this limit may be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected by the Editorial Team, depending on the extent and nature of the overlap.

In addition to similarity screening, JAFAR also applies AI plagiarism checking using Turnitin. The maximum allowable AI plagiarism score is 40%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for clarification and revision prior to further editorial consideration.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cite all sources, and do not contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or unacknowledged AI-generated content. If the Editorial Team identifies substantial overlap, duplication, or unethical writing practices, the manuscript may be rejected in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics.

Reviewers may also notify the editor if they identify significant similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published or unpublished works. JAFAR is committed to upholding academic honesty and ensuring that all published articles meet ethical standards of originality and proper scholarly attribution.
