Reference Management

For authors submitting to the ijtima journal, it is recommended to use APA style (7th edition) for formatting references. To streamline citation and referencing, we encourage the use of reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero,or EndNote. These tools help ensure accurate and consistent citations throughout the manuscript and make the process of managing references more efficient. Below are some brief instructions for using APA style with these tools:

  1. APA Style Requirements

    • In-text citations should follow the author-date format (e.g., Smith, 2020).
    • The reference list should be in alphabetical order, with each entry including all necessary elements: Author(s), Year of Publication, Title of Work, Source (e.g., journal title, book publisher), and DOI or URL if available.
  2. Using Reference Managers

    • Mendeley: Import articles directly from databases, generate citations in APA style, and use the "Cite" function in the Mendeley Desktop or Mendeley Cite plugin for Word.
    • Zotero: Automatically collect bibliographic data from web sources, organize references by project or keyword, and use the Word plugin to insert APA-style citations directly into your manuscript.
    • EndNote: Import and organize references, insert APA citations directly in your text with the EndNote plugin, and customize APA formatting as needed.

These tools not only help maintain consistency in citation style but also make it easy to update references, shared libraries, and collaborate with co-authors. By using APA style with these reference managers, authors contribute to the professional presentation and accessibility of their research.
