THE EFFECT OF MURDER LEARNING MODEL (MOOD, UNDERSTAND, RECALL, DIGEST, EXPAND, REVIEW) ON THE MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

This study aims to determine the effect of the MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review) learning model on the mathematical problem solving skills of phase B students of SD Negeri 158 Pekanbaru. The form of this research is Quasi Experimental (pseudo experiment). This research design is The Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The research population was all fourth grade students of SD Negeri 158 Pekanbaru. The sample of this research is class IV.B as an experimental class with 40 students and class
IV.A as a control class with 40 students. Data collection instruments in the form of test sheets. The test used in the form of Posttest to see the mathematical problem solving ability of students. The statistical analysis for the test results in this study, namely the Mann Whitney U Test, found that the Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 (0.001 <0.05). Because there is a significant difference, it can be said that there is an effect of using the MURDER learning model on the mathematical problem solving skills of phase B students.
