Upaya Bea Cukai Dalam Mengatasi Penyelundupan Handphone Ilegal Di Indonesia (Studi Kasus Malaysia Ke Pekanbaru)

Abstract

The smuggling of illegal cell phones from Malaysia to Indonesia has caused significant losses to the economy. Irresponsible perpetrators use various ways to carry out this smuggling to avoid the supervision of Customs and Excise officers, such as by hiding cell phones and not registering IMEI. This research aims to describe and understand the efforts made by Pekanbaru Customs and Excise in handling illegal cell phone smuggling by air from Malaysia to Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive qualitative in the perspective of liberalism. The results of the study show that the actions taken by Customs show success in reducing the smuggling rate, although major challenges still exist and must be faced, including with technological updates and increased international collaboration that is more efficient.
