Dilema Kebijakan Luar Negeri Singapura Kawasan Asia Tenggara Dalam Rivalitas Perang Dagang Amerika Serikat-Cina

Abstract

Foreign policy can describe how a country's attitude is in facing the international political situation that aims to achieve its national interests. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Singapore's attitude is in facing the rivalry between the United States and China in the trade war conflict through its foreign policy. This study also attempts to find factors that can influence Singapore's foreign policy in the midst of the conflict. The method used in this study is a qualitative method based on the foreign policy theory according to K.J. Holsti. The results of this study indicate that until now Singapore still maintains the principle of its pragmatic and neutral foreign policy by not siding with any of the great powers. The factors that influence Singapore's foreign policy in the rivalry between the United States and China are considered based on economic factors, security, and regional stability.
