Preparation for Submission
Authors submitting manuscripts to the UIR Law Review must ensure that their work is prepared in accordance with the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not comply with the required format, substance, and language standards may be rejected prior to the peer-review process.
1. General Requirements
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Submissions must be prepared in the required file format (Microsoft Word/OpenOffice/RTF) and follow the prescribed academic article structure.
The standard structure includes:

Title

Author(s) name and affiliation

Abstract and keywords
-
Introduction
-
Discussion
-
Conclusion
-
References
All manuscripts must adhere to the journal’s citation style and ensure consistency in references and formatting throughout the document.
2. Formatting and Writing Style
Manuscripts must follow the journal template with the following general requirements:

Font type, size, and spacing must comply with journal guidelines
-
Headings and subheadings must be structured systematically
-
Tables, figures, and illustrations must be numbered and properly sourced
-
References must be consistently formatted according to the required citation style
Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero to ensure citation consistency.
3. Language Policy
The UIR Law Review accepts manuscripts written in:

Indonesian, or
-
English
Language requirements:
-
Manuscripts must use formal, academic, and standard language
-
Legal terminology must be used accurately and consistently
-
For manuscripts written in Indonesian, authors must follow standard Indonesian grammar (Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan / EYD)
-
For manuscripts written in English, authors must use clear and consistent academic English (either British or American English, but not mixed)
-
The abstract must be provided in both Indonesian and English
4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
UIR Law Review upholds academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation is regulated as follows:
a. General Principles

AI tools (such as ChatGPT or similar technologies) may only be used as supporting tools, including:
-
brainstorming initial ideas,
-
language editing, and
-
improving sentence structure.

AI must not be used to generate the entire manuscript without substantial intellectual contribution from the author.
b. Author Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript, including legal analysis, arguments, and accuracy of references.

All data, citations, and sources must be independently verified by the author.

Any form of plagiarism, including improper or uncontrolled use of AI tools, is considered a violation of publication ethics.
c. Transparency of AI Use
If AI tools are used, authors are encouraged to include the following statement:
“Part of the language editing process in this article was assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. However, the author(s) take full responsibility for the content, analysis, and conclusions presented in this manuscript.”
d. Ethical Limitations
AI tools must not be used to:

generate fake or unverifiable references
-
manipulate research data
-
replace original legal reasoning and analysis
Violation of these rules may result in manuscript rejection or other ethical sanctions.
