Peningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Biologi IPA melalui Pembelajaran Kooperatif Round Robin dengan Menggunakan Handout Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru

Abstract

Round Robin cooperative learning with handouts was used in this study to improve cognitive and biological science skills. This study is a classroom action research (PTK). Students of class VII6 of SMP Negeri 11 in Pekanbaru, academic year 2022/2023, subjects totaled 38 students, consisting of 23 male students and 15 female students, were the subjects of this study. Students' cognitive abilities were measured through absorption and learning completeness. Students' cognitive learning outcomes were assessed through descriptive analysis over two cycles, consisting of eleven meetings each. Students obtained PPK absorption scores from the summation of quiz scores, homework, LKPD, and block exams for each basic competency before PTK. . Before PTK, the student absorption value for PPK scores was obtained at 63.15%, after PTK cycle I was 76.31%, there was an increase in student absorption values from before PTK to cycle I by 13.16%, in cycle II it increased by 94.73%, there was an increase in student PPK absorption values from cycle I to cycle II by 18.42%. It can be concluded that the application of Round Robin cooperative learning using handouts can improve the cognitive ability of science biology learning.
