Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik pada Materi Teks Deskripsi Kelas VII SMPN Satu Atap 1 Balik Bukit Lampung Barat

Effective learning requires an approach that is appropriate to the characteristics of the students and the learning materials being taught. One method that attracts attention in this context is Problem Based Learning (PBL), which emphasizes problem solving as the center of the learning process. This research aims to explore the application of PBL learning model in improving students' learning outcomes on description text material in class VII of SMPN Satu Atap 1 Balik Bukit, West Lampung. In this study, PBL method is applied as a learning approach that integrates contextual problem solving with descriptive text learning. The learning process focused on identifying problems in the description text, analyzing the context, and developing relevant solutions. Students' active participation in identifying problems and formulating solutions becomes the main focus in the learning process. This research method uses classroom action research with design. The research subjects were seventh grade students at One Roof SMPN 1 Balik Bukit, West Lampung. The results showed that the application of PBL learning model was effective in improving students' learning outcomes on descriptive text material. In conclusion, the application of PBL learning model can be an effective alternative in improving students' learning outcomes on descriptive text material. The integration between contextual problem solving and description text learning provides a more interesting and meaningful learning experience for students. Therefore, it is recommended that the PBL learning method be integrated more in the learning curriculum in schools to improve the quality of education.
