Review Process

1. Initial Evaluation

All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial committee within 2 weeks. Rejection at this stage may occur if the manuscript is out of scope, insufficiently original, or contains serious scientific flaws. During this phase, the editorial team also checks for formatting compliance, plagiarism (using Turnitin), and inappropriate use of AI tools. Manuscripts deemed suitable will be forwarded to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

2. Peer Review

ICASS Proceedings employs a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers, selected according to their expertise in the subject matter. The standard review period is 6 to 7 weeks. Reviewers are provided with the manuscript file, a review form, and evaluation guidelines.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:

• Clarity of objectives and novelty of the research gap.
• Soundness of methodology and appropriateness of the approach.
• Validity of results and whether findings support the conclusions.
• Adequacy of references to previous relevant work.

3. Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection rests with the editorial committee, taking into account reviewers’ recommendations. Decisions may include: accept as is, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. A manuscript may be rejected due to fundamental methodological flaws or if authors fail to adequately address reviewers’ comments without valid justification.

4. Galley Proof

A galley proof will be sent to the corresponding author for final verification. Authors are expected to carefully review the proof and submit corrections within the stipulated timeframe. Substantial changes at this stage require editorial approval and, if necessary, the manuscript may undergo re-review. Only after final approval will the paper be published in the ICASS Proceedings.
