Plagiarism Check

WEDANA: Journal of Government, Politics, and Public Policy is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process and again prior to publication, when necessary.

The journal uses Turnitin to evaluate the originality of each manuscript. Editors carefully examine the similarity report to distinguish legitimate similarities, such as references, quotations, methodological descriptions, and commonly used terminology, from potential plagiarism or unethical text overlap.

Similarity Threshold

To be considered for peer review, manuscripts should meet the following criteria:

  • Maximum overall similarity index: 20%
  • Maximum similarity from a single source: 5%
  • Properly cited quotations, references, bibliography, and standard methodological expressions are excluded from the similarity assessment where appropriate.

A low similarity index does not automatically guarantee originality, and a high similarity index does not necessarily indicate plagiarism. Editorial decisions are based on a qualitative assessment of the similarity report in accordance with international publication ethics.

Editorial Policy

The Editorial Board reserves the right to:

  • Reject manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or excessive text recycling.
  • Request authors to revise manuscripts when unacceptable textual overlap is identified.
  • Withdraw accepted or published articles if plagiarism is discovered after publication, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors' Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • The submitted manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  • All sources are appropriately acknowledged and cited.
  • Any reused material is properly attributed and used with the necessary permissions.
  • The manuscript complies with the journal's ethical standards and international best practices in scholarly publishing.
