Abstract

The problems include: The number of waste bins provided by the government at the Mandau District Waste Disposal Site (TPS) is insufficient to accommodate all the waste generated by the community. Trash is still scattered outside the bins, waste is not collected daily, and there is a lack of composting facilities and supporting facilities for composting. The purpose of this study was to analyze and explain the waste management at the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service UPT (A study at the Mandau District UPT). The informants in this study consisted of the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service UPT, the Mandau Sub-district Head, Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service UPT employees, the Mandau District community, and village-owned enterprises (BUMDes). The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Based on the research results related to waste management by the Bengkalis Regency Environmental Service Unit (Study in Mandau District), four indicators and eight sub-indicators were running well. However, one program that was not running well was the waste bank program. Furthermore, waste was still scattered and not cleaned up by officers, and not all waste was packaged by the community.
