Sikap Bahasa Mahasiswa dan Implikasinya terhadap Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Perguruan Tinggi

Abstract

This study aims to describe the attitudes of student language toward Indonesia and find out the implications for learning Indonesia Language in tertiary institutions. This research method is a case study. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Literature at the Universitas Muslim Indonesia Makassar, with a total sample of 92 students. Research data were collected using a questionnaire technique whose statement items were translated into three aspects, namely language loyalty, the attitude of language pride, and awareness of language norms. The data collected was analyzed statistically using the SPSS program and the results were converted into four attitude categories: very positive, positive, positive enough, and negative. The results showed in general, the attitude of Indonesian language students was in a very positive category or 68%. In detail, the attitude of Indonesian language loyalty of students is in the very positive category or 77%; the pride of Indonesian students in the very positive category or 61%; and the attitude of students awareness of the existence of Indonesian language norms is in a positive category or 70%. Furthermore, the results of this study are implicated in the development of a more creative and innovative Indonesian learning strategy, as well as the development of Indonesian Language textbooks in higher education with more character and quality adapted to the times.
