Improving Learning Outcomes for Pianica Musical Instrument Playing Skills Using the Peer Tutor Method for Class VII Students at SMPN 9 Pekanbaru. Learning the art of music at school is actually an exciting learning activity for students. Therefore, in the learning process teachers must use appropriate strategies to achieve learning objectives. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method. In classroom action research, data collection goes through several stages, namely: pre-cycle stage, cycle 1 and cycle 2. The problem-solving process starts from planning, action, observation, analyzing data and information to find out weaknesses and strengths. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. This can be seen from the level of student learning completion which increased from 24 students in pre-cycle 6 students (25%) got a score ≥ 70, in cycle 1 there was an increase of 14 students (58%) got a score ≥ 70, and increased quite rapidly in cycle 2, namely: 22 students (92%) managed to get a score ≥ 70. Meanwhile, only 2 students (8%) did not succeed in getting a score ≥ 70. Based on the results of this research, teachers are advised to use appropriate methods in an effort to increase student activity and learning in arts and culture learning, one of these methods is the peer tutoring method.
