Abstract

The development strategy of cultural heritage is an essential step in preserving historical legacy in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This study aims to identify the development strategies implemented by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation from informants directly involved in the field of culture and tourism. The findings indicate that the strategies implemented include programs for physical preservation of cultural heritage, promotion through cultural events, and public education on historical values. However, the implementation of these strategies is still hindered by budget constraints, low public awareness, and lack of inter-institutional collaboration. In conclusion, the strategies are on the right track but need to be strengthened through better resource support and institutional synergy.
