Abstract

This research aims to find out the extent of Empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Dumai City Department of Cooperative Industry and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Study in West Dumai District). The weaknesses of micro, small and medium enterprises themselves cause them to face various problems. To become a company that is strong, independent, competitive and develops sustainably, local governments must be empowered. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The results show that local governments can overcome various problems faced by micro, small and medium enterprises by providing empowerment such as capital, training, marketing, facilities and a good business climate. This will make this business resilient, independent, competitive and develop sustainably, and contribute to the regional economy. in West Dumai District, they will be accompanied by the Department of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives (MSMEs) because they need encouragement and assistance from the government. In this way, this program will be able to increase the independence of MSME players so that they can innovate and develop high quality products.
