Digital Da'wah And The Future Of Islamic Media: Navigating Cultural And Technological Challenges
Keywords:

This article examines the transformation of Islamic da'wah in the digital era and its implications for the sustainability of Islamic media amid rapid cultural and technological change. The expansion of digital platforms—such as social media, streaming services, and artificial intelligence—has fundamentally altered modes of da'wah delivery, audience engagement, and patterns of religious interaction. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on a literature review and contextual analysis to explore how digital da'wah integrates Islamic values with technological innovation while responding to challenges including information overload, commercialization of religious content, instant culture, and algorithm-driven communication. The findings reveal that the sustainability of Islamic media in the digital age is strongly influenced by the strengthening of digital literacy, adherence to ethical media principles, and the development of creative and context-sensitive da'wah strategies. Furthermore, effective digital da'wah requires cultural adaptability without compromising the authenticity and moral substance of Islamic teachings. This study concludes that digital da'wah should not be oriented solely toward technological efficiency, but must prioritize educational depth, ethical responsibility, and the cultivation of a moderate, inclusive, and civilized Islamic communication environment in digital spaces.
