Local-based energy education plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of human resources in oil and gas-producing regions such as Riau. This article presents a community service initiative conducted by lecturers from the Petroleum Engineering Department of Universitas Islam Riau at Serirama YLPI Vocational High School in Pekanbaru. The program aimed to introduce students to surface oil and gas production facilities through a combination of interactive classroom learning and group-based model-building activities. The implementation method involved three phases: preparation, execution, and evaluation. Results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of basic oil and gas production concepts, particularly the function of equipment such as separators, tanks, and booster pumps. Additionally, students exhibited high enthusiasm and creativity during the group work sessions. This initiative also encouraged students’ motivation and interest in engineering studies, strengthened their self-confidence, and opened up the potential for establishing school-based creative industries. The program demonstrates the importance of knowledge transfer and collaboration between higher education institutions and vocational schools in fostering innovation and local capacity development
