Abstract

Sertifikasi halal merupakan instrumen penting dalam meningkatkan daya saing dan keberlanjutan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM), khususnya di wilayah dengan mayoritas penduduk Muslim seperti Kota Medan. Namun, tingkat kepemilikan sertifikasi halal pada UMKM masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis urgensi sertifikasi halal bagi UMKM dengan meninjau pengaruh literasi halal dan kesadaran kesehatan terhadap minat UMKM dalam melakukan sertifikasi halal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap pelaku UMKM di Kota Medan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi halal dan kesadaran kesehatan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat UMKM dalam melakukan sertifikasi halal, dengan literasi halal sebagai faktor yang paling dominan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman halal dan kesadaran akan aspek kesehatan produk menjadi kunci strategis dalam mendorong UMKM untuk memperoleh sertifikasi halal. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar perumusan kebijakan dan program pendampingan UMKM halal yang lebih efektif. Keterbatasan penelitian ini pada waktu peneliti, sehingga populasi yang digunakan hanya kota Medan saja tidak Sumatera Utara.
