Abstract

Pesticide exposure not only increases the risk of lung disease, but also has the potential to worsen the health conditions of patients who already have lung disease. This community service aims to educate patient families on how to care for patients with lung disease with the principles of agronursing. The community service process includes educating families on how to care for patients with lung disease, introducing and implementing the use of medicinal plants in patient care, providing a healthy diet based on agronursing to families, ongoing assistance by nurses or health workers in supporting family functions by providing education using media and tools: leaflets and medicinal plant seeds. Based on the results of the socialization and home visits that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the families of farmer patients showed readiness and enthusiasm to receive education and changes in their lifestyle. Education about the impact of pesticide exposure and the importance of agronursing has a positive impact, although real implementation, such as gardening and the use of medicinal plants, still needs further assistance. Education about the benefits of medicinal plants that can be used to manage lung disease is an important part of this project. Plants such as ginger, curcuma, and cat's whiskers, which have anti-inflammatory properties and support respiratory health, can be a safe and effective alternative treatment, especially for patients exposed to pesticides or other hazardous chemicals. By planting and utilizing these plants, the patient's family can participate in caring for the patient's lung health naturally. Overall, this project can provide great practical benefits, both for the patient's family and the patient themselves. Through education and empowerment of families with knowledge about agronursing, it is hoped that more holistic and comprehensive care can be created that involves the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the patient in supporting the healing process of lung disease.
