ANALISIS SEKTOR INDUSTRI TERHADAP PENYERAPAN TENAGA KERJA DI KOTA PEKANBARU

Abstract

This research was conducted in Pekanbaru city. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the industrial sector in the absorption of labor in the city of Pekanbaru, then to determine the industrial sector which plays a greater role in the absorption of labor in each sector of small industry and medium industry in the city of Pekanbaru. The type of data used is secondary data with a five-year time series starting in 2016-2020. The data analysis method used in this study is descriptive analysis, namely the analysis of labor elasticity by calculating the percentage growth in the number of industrial sector workers divided by the percentage growth in the number of industries to find out how the role of the industrial sector in employment in Pekanbaru city is, then by finding the average percentage of elasticity of the small and medium industry sector to find out which industrial sector has a bigger role in the absorption of labor in each of the small and medium industrial sectors in Pekanbaru city. The results of this study indicate that the industrial sector in Pekanbaru city has a relatively small role in the absorption of labor in Pekanbaru city, where the elasticity number ranges from -0,11% to 0,91%, and then the sector that plays a larger role in absorption of the workforce in each sector of small industry and medium industry in Pekanbaru city is a small industrial sector, where the average elasticity is 0,76%.
