Abstract

Small damage that is not treated immediately causes the damage to become greater and its influence to become more widespread. The aim of this research is to determine the level of road damage, find out the results of analysis values from the SDI and PCI methods, and find out how to handle and maintain roads in Riau Province, Cerenti - Air Molek Road. The methods used are the Surface Distress Index (SDI) and Pavement Conditions Index (PCI), the methods used in this research are the SDI and PCI methods. For the results of the SDI method, the relationship equation between SDI and IRI is also used. SDI data was obtained from surveys conducted manually, while IRI data was obtained from the Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement Areas and Land (PUPRPKPP) of Riau Province, while PCI data was obtained through surveys. The condition of the Cerenti Air Molek Sta 48+400- 50+400 road section is categorized as severely damaged because according to the SDI method assessment it has a SDI average value of 133.5. Meanwhile, in the PCI method assessment, the condition of the Cerenti Air Molek Sta 48+400- 50+400 road section is categorized as moderate type of road damage because it has a PCI average value of 49.15. The form of handling and repairing moderate and heavily damaged road conditions is by carrying out structural and/or geometric improvements. To achieve this level of service, related parties need to overlay. For moderate road damage conditions, the relevant parties need to carry out routine maintenance. The form is to treat the surface layer, improving the quality of the pavement but not increasing structural strength. This is done all year round. For several road conditions in the lightly damaged category, periodic maintenance treatment is carried out at certain times and is intended to improve the structural capability of the road.
