LOCAL GOVERNMENT POLICY IMPLEMENTATION : ONE-WAY ROAD IN SELATPANJANG DISTRICT, MERANTI REGENCY INDONESIA

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the implementation of one-way road policy in Selatpanjang,
Meranti Regency Indonesia. Traffic Management and Engineering (MRLL) is a series of efforts and
activities that include planning, procurement, installation, arrangement and maintenance of road
equipment facilities in order to realize, support and maintain security, safety order and smooth traffic.
The approach is exploratory and qualitative, and Nvivo 12 Plus is used for analysis. The results of this
study indicate that the policy of implementing one-way roads in Selatpanjang is not running and is
revoked by the local government due to a lack of public awareness of traffic signs and a very small city
is not effective in implementing the one-way road policy. The conclusion in this study is that the
implementation of the one-way road policy in Selatpanjang is not running and the policy is canceled.
This research contributes to the local government of Selatpanjang, Meranti Regency, Indonesia in the
implementation of policies, especially in one-way roads.
