Abstract

Jamu merupakan minuman tradisional Indonesia yang memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kesehatan. Meskipun jenisnya beragam, namun tidak semua masyarakat mengetahui nama maupun manfaat dari jamu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan review terhadap jamu yang sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat dari segi bahan baku, kandungan metabolit sekunder dan manfaat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode kepustakaan (literatur review) dari berbagai sumber. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis dan diolah untuk mendapatkan hasil yang sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelusuran literatur diketahui bahwa terdapat 7 jenis jamu yang sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Jenis jamu tersebut adalah jamu kunir asem, sinom, uyub-uyub/gepyokan, beras kencur, cabe puyang pahitan dan kudu laos. Jamu yang ditemukan ternyata memiliki manfaat yang berbeda-beda bagi kesehatan. Hal ini disebabkan karena setiap jamu karena memiliki bahan baku yang berbeda sehingga kandungan metabolit sekundernya juga berbeda. Demikian pula dengan manfaatnya. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah jenis jamu di Indonesia ada 7 (tujuh) dan semuanya memiliki manfaat yang luar biasa untuk kesehatan.
