Meningkatkan Potensi Pertanian Dengan Implementasi Program Layanan Bajak Gratis Di Kecamatan Lintau Buo, Kabupaten Tanah Datar

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the free plowing service program as an effort to increase agricultural potential in Lintau Buo District, Tanah Datar Regency. This program is a local government initiative that provides free rice field plowing services for farmers to reduce production costs and accelerate the planting process. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation from various related parties, such as the Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Extension Centers, farmer groups, and farmers receiving the service. The results show that the free plowing service can significantly increase agricultural productivity with a 19.23% reduction in production costs and an increase in the cropping index. The success of the program is supported by the synergy between the government, agricultural machinery brigades, extension centers, and the active participation of farmer groups and the community. Obstacles such as limited agricultural machinery and complicated bureaucratic processes were challenges, but digital innovation in service submissions has facilitated farmer access. This study concludes that the free plowing service program is effective in increasing the agricultural potential of Lintau Buo District and recommends expanding the program to other agricultural aspects such as fertilization and harvesting for broader benefits. Ongoing coaching and supervision are important prerequisites for maintaining the sustainability and efficiency of this program.
