Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in the United States on the election of Joe Biden as president of the United States in 2020. This study is based on sosio politicial events following the death of George Floyd, which triggered meaning and increased awareness of rasial justice issues. To understanding the dynamicsof political participation with sosial movements, the theory used is the pluralism perspective, the theory of new social movements. This research was conducted through a qualitative descriptive approach and literature study. The Black Lives Matter movements is the subject of research, and how it impacted black voter participation in the 2020 election. Research information consists of researchers studying books, journals, and related documents about Black Lives Matter and the 2020 United States election. Data analysis used is a qualitative analysis with a descriptive approach. The study shows that Black Lives Matter is very helpful in increasing political awarenes, and monilizing monority voters, and pushing the sosial reform agenda that uses Joe Biden's campaign. This movement also succeeded in increasing voter participation in key areas, which helped Joe Biden win the 2020 election.
