Dampak Kebijakan AIFTA (2020) Tentang Penghapusan Tarif Terhadap Stabilitas Ekonomi Lokal (Studi Kasus Ekspor Gambir Dari Kapur IX Ke India)

This study aims to analyze the impact of international trade policies on local economic stability, using the case of gambier exports from Kapur IX to India. The research is motivated by the significance of trade agreements such as the ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement (AIFTA), which reduced gambier import tariffs to 0% in 2020. The study employs a liberalist perspective and the theory of economic interdependence, along with the concept of free trade. This qualitative research utilizes interviews, observations, and literature studies. The subjects are gambier farmers and exporters in Kapur IX. The findings reveal that while international trade policies provide broader market access and increase export volumes, limitations in technology, weak local government involvement, and high dependency on the Indian market pose major challenges to local economic stability.
