KEBIJAKAN EKONOMI PADA MASA KEGEMILANGAN ISLAM UMAR BIN ABDUL AZIZ

Abstract

The well -being of society is the key to the success of a leadership, this can be seen in the glory of Islamic civilization, one of which was during the leadership of the Umayyads. Of the fourteen Caliphs, there was one Caliph who at the time of his leadership sent in a time of glory, he was Umar bin Abdul Aziz. The purpose of this research is to prove that Umar bin Abdul Aziz has succeeded in bringing the Umayyads to glory through economic policy. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that travels with the method of literature analysis - literature that explains the economics of the Umayyad period, especially in the time of Umar bin Abdul Aziz. The results showed that Umar bin Abdul Aziz proved to be successful in increasing economic growth through his policies, especially on the management of zakat, so that the Umayyads reached the peak of glory.
