STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN USAHATANI KARET DAN PEMASARAN BOKAR DI DESA KASANG BANGSAWAN KECAMATAN PUJUD KABUPATEN ROKAN HILIR PROVINSI RIAU

Rubber is one of the agricultural commodities with strong potential for continued development. This study aims to analyze rubber farming, the marketing of raw rubber materials, and strategies for developing rubber farming and raw rubber marketing. The research was conducted using a survey method in Kasang Bangsawan Village, Pujud District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, from June to November 2023. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis, and SWOT analysis. The results show that: (1) The average characteristics of farmers and traders are as follows: age of farmers and traders is 41.75 years and 49.60 years; education level is 9.66 years and 12 years; farming experience is 21.81 years and 21.40 years; and family dependents are 3.13 and 3.40 persons, respectively. (2) Cultivation technology has not yet been fully implemented according to technical standards. (3) Raw rubber marketing involves farmers, village collectors, sub-district collectors, and factories. There are two marketing channels: channel 1 (farmers–village collectors–sub-district collectors) with a cost of IDR 537.01/kg, a profit of IDR 7,362.99/kg, a margin of IDR 7,900/kg, a farmer’s share of 52.12%, and an efficiency level of 3.25%; and channel 2 (farmers–sub-district collectors) with a cost of IDR 394.08/kg, a profit of IDR 7,805.92/kg, a margin of IDR 8,200/kg, a farmer’s share of 50.30%, and an efficiency level of 2.39%. (4) The SWOT analysis shows coordinates (-0.31:-0.26) in quadrant IV (WT strategy), indicating that the main strategy is the implementation of proper cultivation techniques and rubber replanting based on SOPs to increase income and prevent land-use conversion.
