Dinamika Kepentingan Ekonomi Indonesia Dalam Implementasi Kesepakatan Asean-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) : Studi Kasus Indonesia-Swiss

Abstract

The Dynamics of Indonesia’s Economic Interests in the Implementation of the ASEAN-European Free Trade Association (ASEAN-EFTA) Free Trade Agreement, with a Special Focus on the Bilateral Relationship Between Indonesia and Switzerland Under the Indonesia-EFTA Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IE-CEPA). This agreement presents strategic opportunities for Indonesia to expand export market access, enhance the competitiveness of domestic products, and attract foreign direct investment from the EFTA region. Research findings indicate that the implementation of IE-CEPA has positively impacted Indonesia’s exports to Switzerland and other EFTA countries, particularly in rubber, coffee, spices, and furniture products. However, Indonesia also faces structural challenges, including limitations in logistics infrastructure, the readiness of businesses to meet international standards, and suboptimal inter-institutional policy coordination. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through literature reviews, official documents, and academic journal publications. The findings affirm that optimizing the benefits of free trade agreements requires national policy synergy, strengthening domestic industries, and technical support for businesses to compete in an increasingly competitive global market.
