Strategi Optimalisasi Ekspor Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Di Pelabuhan Dumai

Abstract

Crude palm oil (CPO) is extracted from the palm fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis), a significant agribusiness commodity with a wide range of applications, including use in food, cosmetics, biofuels, and chemical products.The Bandar Sri Junjungan Port in Dumai is a strategically important port in Sumatra, functioning as a transportation hub and having a long history of trade dating back to the era of the Malay kingdom. The objective of this study is to identify key factors and formulate strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of CPO export management at Bandar Sri Junjungan Port, Dumai City. This study falls under the category of qualitative research, with data collection carried out through interview methods, analysis of books, journals, mass media, websites, and literature studies to obtain accurate data. The findings of this research underscore the pivotal role of optimized CPO export management in fortifying the competitiveness of the Indonesian palm oil industry within the global market. Key elements contributing to this optimization include infrastructure enhancement, digitalization of logistics systems, sustainability certification, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Fluctuations in CPO prices in the international market, as well as efficiency in the transportation and logistics system, are challenges that must be surmounted to enhance export competitiveness. Given the various challenges that exist, concerted efforts must be made by the government, industry players, and port managers to ensure the seamless operation of CPO exports and to ensure that these exports contribute positively to the national economy.
