Abstract

Sampat bath is a tradition that goes in a series of wedding ceremony for the
Malay community in the Village District of Antelope Island Reteh Indragiri Hilir Riau
Province. But this Sampat bath tradition is unique because it is done after 3 days and 3
nights a wedding reception held, and the preparation of this event is almost the same as
the day of the wedding reception as before. For the people of the local Malay tradition
Shower Sampat become very important and should be carried out because according to
the belief Malay community in the village Pulau Kijang if tradition Shower Sampat is not
carried out then the people who are involved in the implementation of the marriage will
be aches and fatal to the bride and groom in the traditions of the other side is also

descriptive method of analysis using data from qualitative research used to examine the
