Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Paper Formatting Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted for consideration to Jurnal Kajian Pemerintah: Journal of Government, Social and Politics must conform to the following requirements that will facilitate preparation of the article for publication:

(1) Manuscript requirements (Only one file to be uploaded and as 'complete paper').

  1. 5 spaced text, tables, and references.
  2. No paragraph indenting
  3. 12-point Goudy Old Style typeface.
  4. All pages numbered.
  5. Manuscript length must not exceed 5000 words and 15 one-spaced pages (including text and references).
  6. Number of figures and tables combined must not exceed 10.
  7. All diagrams a MUST be converted to JPEG files and embeded in document
  8. Manuscripts that exceed these guidelines will be subject to reductions in length.

(2) Title page

  1. Maximum length of title: 10 words.
  2. List author names as they should appear in print complete with affiliation (i.e. University, institute, etc) (This page will be deleted by the editor when sent to reviewers)

(3) Abstract

  1. Maximum length: 250 words.
  2. State the problem research, paper's purpose, methods, results, conclusions and recomendation.

(4) Text

  1. Write in the third person ("the author concludes . . .").
  2. Headings should be uppercase and appear flush left on a separate line.
  3. Cite references in the text in parentheses. Style them according to the examples given in the "References" section below.
  4. Refer to specific products or services by generic names in the text. Cite the trade name, the manufacturer or consultant, and the manufacturer's or consultant's location (city and state or country) in a numbered footnote. List all footnotes in numerical order at the end of the paper after the references.
  5. Spell out all initialisms, acronyms, or abbreviations (not units of measure) at first use.
    Put the initialism or abbreviation in parentheses after the spelled-out version.
  6. Place equations on separate lines, centered, and numbered in parentheses at the
    right margin.
  7. Conclude the text with a summary or conclusion section.
  8. The paper must conform to a high level of Indonesia language or English language.

(5) References

1. Cite references by the author name and date of publication. General examples of reference style are provided below. Preferred style is APA 6.

    • For single authors of single studies: The findings of this study (Smith, 2000) showed that............
    • For single authors of multiple studies in the same year: The findings of these studies (Smith, 2000a; Smith, 2000b; Smith, 2000c) showed that........
    • For multiple authors of single studies: The findings of this study (Smith et al, 2000) showed that ..........
    • For multiple authors of different studies, list the references in order of year, with the most recent one first: The findings of these studies (Smith et al, 2000; Doe, 1998; Jones et al, 1997) .........
    • Provide an alphabetical list of references at the end of the paper.

(6) Tables

  1. All tables must be referenced in the paper BUT located before Reference List at paper's end. NOT in the Paper
  2. Tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals in the order in which they are mentioned in the text.
  3. The table number should be followed by a table title. (The table number and title willalso be requested for the online manuscript submission form; you may copy and paste this information into the proper fields on the form.)

(7) Figures

  1. All figure mustbe referenced in the paper BUT located before Reference List at paper's end. NOT in the Paper.
  2. The figure number should be followed by a figure title. (The figure number and title will also be requested for the online manuscript submission form; you may copy and paste this information into the proper fields on the form.)
